NMCC understands and believes that reading for pleasure and putting pen to paper is monumental in determining academic and social success. Children when encouraged to investigate their literary talents open new worlds. They embark on the most epic voyage of all, the one that takes them deep into their own identity and imagination.

In view of the above Jalakam a yearly online publication of the NMCC members literary works was started in the year 2011. The publication typically includes Poetry, Fiction, Scientific information and Creative works from the members.

By enjoying, experiencing and exploring the works of others in our community our younger ones endeavour to become effective writers themselves. Through Jalakam we guarantee an audience and purpose to our members for their writing.

The growth of the publication is evident in how the children of yesterday and the youth of today have grown to walk in the shoes of the Jalakam editor. It is encouraging to note that year after year with little or no motivation our members excitedly contribute to the publication.
